Salt and Light Homeschool Co-Op

Welcome to Salt and Light Co-Op!

     Salt and Light is a non-denominational Christian cooperative, which is located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.  We are comprised of approximately forty-five families that meet together during the school year to share and enhance our children's homeschooling experience.  Our class selection differs each year, with classes being offered for preschool through high school levels.  Parents and children alike take an active role in making Salt and Light an atmosphere where learning is encouraged.

Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe in God, the Father almighty,
    creator of heaven and earth.
    We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
    who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
    born of the Virgin Mary,
    suffered under Pontius Pilate,
    was crucified, died, and was buried;
    he descended to the dead.
    On the third day he rose again;
    he ascended into heaven,
    he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
    and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
    We believe in the Holy Spirit,

    the holy catholic Church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and the life everlasting. Amen.

Purpose Statement

It is the mission of Salt and Light, to assist homeschooling families in the character and academic training of their children for service to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We intend to do this by providing quality programs to complement and enhance their standard curriculum, especially in those areas that are better served through cooperative learning.  These classes will include sciences and humanities with the general intent to broaden the scope of the children's education.  It is also our intent to hold our children to the highest degree of Christian behavior both in their academic and extracurricular pursuits.

    Our Goal:  We strive to offer classes one day each week for students in preschool through senior high.  The priority of our resources is given to meeting the needs of high school students trying to fulfill graduation requirements, including requirements of the Pennsylvania Home School Diploma Program.
